This year started well with news of good rains and hopes of plentiful crops by April should the rains continue and, if they do, the price of maize should then drop considerably. However, there’s a need to provide maize for the school lunches for the first three or four months of this year and the maize prices are high at this time. The Project was able to send some funds to cover the purchase of maize for the first two months but is seeking donations to provide for the two months after that. They travelled far to find the best price for maize – the older children unloaded it on arrival at the school
