- Windsor & Maidenhead Education Department were approached asking them to investigate the possibility of arranging a “twinning” of one of the schools in the area with Mnyakongo Primary School. Within a month a school had come forward and expressed great interest. All necessary paperwork was completed and the first link was made by an exchange of letters.

- The Library Project was well underway at San Diego State University in California and the call for books had gone out. http://newscenter.sdsu.edu/sdsuniverse/news.aspx?s=70727
- A new initiative was set up by Heather Laing to collect sports equipment for the school.
- Word went out that soft toys and educational games and puzzles were needed for the school and the collection started with a trickle and then gathered pace.
- We heard of new building works at the school – to house the books coming from SDSU.
- Peter requested local carpenters in Kongwa to build shelving to be installed in the new building once it is complete.
